They may have a few aesthetic defects but the components are ensured to work and the hard drives have been wiped so they are fantastic if you want to save some money.

Yes: a refurb was taken back to the factory, fixed, and tested. However, you sometimes do not get as long a warranty.
I often buy refurbs.

Nope—not always. Refurbished means it wasn’t made right in the first place and it was sent back and they made some adjustments to make it run but may not have fixed the problem!

you can never be sure. if they are off lease , and not too old, you may get by…I bought one (a Dell with all the industrial goodies with it $200-it lasted 2.5 years, i was happy.. the next one I bought refurbished went out in 4 months..
if you buy a brand new one, problems solved and in two years throw it away and get a new one, it’s a way of life now days.

No you lose the warranty and some problems cannot be fixed such as a bad circuit.
